Located on the top floor of a five-story building, Aprol is a beacon of fun and dancing. The bar's name, inspired by the popular summer aperitif, is a testament to its vibrant concept. The panoramic window not only provides natural lighting but also offers a stunning view of the Zamoskvorechye district, the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, and the skyscrapers of Moscow City.
Archpoint's design team, led by Chief Architect Valery Lizunov, along with designers Ekaterina Ageeva and Alina Stein, have created a space that is as functional as it is aesthetically pleasing. The bar's unique features include a six-meter statue of David, printed on a 3D printer, and six cold steam fireplaces installed into the low bar countertop. The tables are custom made from concrete and marble, while the bar facade is made of stainless steel.
The design process began in January 2019 and was completed in June of the same year. Despite the challenges of the bar's fifth-floor location and the complexity of the hand-made elements, the team managed to create a space that is both inviting and intriguing. The bar's main color, orange, is a nod to the famous aperitif, Aperol, synonymous with summer in Russia.
The interior is a tribute to pop art, featuring a mix of colors, neon, and large art objects that evoke the bright imagery of Warhol. The summer theme is further enhanced by striped mattresses on the windowsills and a beach area with sunbeds behind the DJ. The floating statue of David, given the movement of a swimmer, provides the requisite wow factor.
The design's success is evident in its accolades. Aprol was awarded a Golden A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2020. This prestigious award is granted to creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom, embodying extraordinary excellence and significantly impacting the world with their desirable characteristics.
In conclusion, Aprol is a testament to the power of design, technology, and a bold vision. It is a space that not only serves as a trendy location for party-goers but also as a beacon of innovative design and architectural excellence.
